Toddler language

I was reading other blogs and talking with some friends about toddler language. I like to think I will always remember this time and his little words that only Kieran and I can understand, but as he graduates from "nana" to "banana," I realize I am going to forget everything as my brain makes room for other fun kidsisms....and that literally makes me cry. So I'm going to use this post to document Liam's language so I can look back all nostalgic and weepy when my boys leave me for other women.

abu: open. He's already starting to say "open" but reverts back to abu when he's deep in conversation.

ambie: ambulance. makes sense, who doesn't like to shorten words to save time and/or energy?

asauce: applesauce. Again, he's already saying applesauce and he tries really hard to say both words. It's so cute to listen to him really sound out apple...sauce.

cocky: coffee.

cunt: Scout. Imagine my surprise when he was pointing and shouting towards the bookcase: "cunt cunt cunt"... After some failed attempts at deciphering this, I finally picked up Scout the Dog, hoping the c-word would stop flowing freely from my son's lips, and lo and behold, that is what he was saying.

didden: donut. cocky & diddens in our house often.

hanoi: no, not the capital of Vietnam. A hangnail, folks. If you hear hanoi in our house, Liam has a hangnail.

incar: firetruck. dunno.

moan: phone.

o-yo: Oreo. Don't judge.

Those are some that I can think of off hand.... Now he's already putting three words together. Sniffle.
