due to the acoustics of this house, of course i originally think it's the smoke alarm on the ceiling and drag the biggest ladder from the garage into the house.
of course it's the smoke alarm on the lower ceiling reachable by a bar stool.
this is still day 1, folks.
a) thank goodness the kids didn't wake up
b) thank goodness i didn't gouge out the wall w/ladder
c) thank goodness i didn't jack up the minivan either, as it is my only mode of transport while i'm here and a scraped up minivan is just ghetto
d) thank goodness i didn't lose my sh*t and rip all the smoke alarms off the walls & ceiling in a Go, Diego, Go / chirping smoke alarm rage.
it's curtains for me, kids.

I guess we'll safely assume there wasn't a fire. Good thing the kids slept through. It would have been really bad if they woke up and went to their "safe place" and you couldn't find them. Oh, how I'd love to be a fly on the wall...Good Luck today!
