Yes I did.....

So I was back and forth about doing the Chicago Marathon this year due to a poorly planned (but properly executed) Vegas trip and being sicker than a dog.....well, after seeing the weather reports in the 2 weeks leading up to the race, I thought - "Screw it, I'll at least start." The weather was supposed to be runner perfect (not so much for the people watching - so many North Face jackets & steaming hot cups of coffee...) and I did train for this race for my entire summer. A couple of missed long runs wasn't going to stop me from at least STARTING the race and seeing how far I could go.

Ladies and Gents - I finished. My time leaves much to be desired, but I finished properly (no diversion a la 2007). And I can always run faster next time! Now, as I type this on my day off work (government employees get Columbus Day off), I am stiff and sore. So sore. But I am 99% positive it's just sore, not injury. Kieran has commented that he wishes he had a video camera to document me getting in and out of the car. I might not be able to do any housework today, either. Just drink my Pumpkin Spice latte and finally update the blog.......
Me and Chrissy. Yes, that is a finisher's medal around my neck, all 26.2 non-diverted miles run (or, more accurately, run/walked starting at mile 22). Official chip time: 5:11:39....a mere 3 hours and 6 minutes after the winner. ha!

Congrats on finishing! That's awesome! I can't WAIT to start running again. Had to stop a few months into the pregnancy, due to the bounce factor. I'm already plotting runs I might be ready for by next May or June!

Way to go. If it makes you feel better ... you ran more miles in 5:11:39 than I've run in my entire life. :)
