Lovin' summer in Chicago....

So Kieran and I have decided that every weekend we're home this summer, we're going to get outside and do something...we'll see how long it lasts. We started 2 weeks ago (5/31/09) with some Portillos (if you've never been, go!) and then a walk to Navy Pier. Once we got to the pier, we took a "Sea Dog" architectural tour. It started along the Chicago River and then ended with a speedboat ride along the skyline in Lake Michigan, "Sea Dog"-style. We got soaked. Below are some pics.

Last weekend, no pics, but we did go on another walk around Bucktown for some pizza at Piece (yum, highly recommended) and on Saturday, to a Chicago fave, Manny's deli. We were going to see a movie, but ended up just watching Netflix. This upcoming weekend will probably be a street fest, since our wedding band is playing on Sunday at St. Mike's fest. Hopefully I'll get some pics then! We'll be in G-town for Father's Day....

Sears Tower....always and forever, even when they rename it....I don't even know what the new name is....

Trump Tower - Kieran and I met my mom and her friends there for "a drink" on Saturday night. They stick so much foo-foo crap in the glass that it's hardly worth the dough. Very posh. We're glad we went though, just to say we went. I don't think we'll be spending any weekend nights there running up a bar tab, or we'd be hitting the bread line shortly thereafter.....
