Chicago Drives (hi, Jilly!).

In response to Jill's comment, yes, I do drive sometimes in Chicago. But I try to walk and/or take public transportation whenever possible. I love the transportation system in this great city, however, there are just some circumstances where I prefer to be rollin' in my own ride rather than the CTA's.

Situations that Require* me to Drive:
(1) to work. I work at 26th & California and, yes, the California bus stops right in front of my building, but to get on the California bus, I would have to take the Chicago bus west to California and then hop on the SB California bus. This would easily take 2 hours total and my patience is already worn thin by my job in general. Tack on a 2+ hour commute and you'll be seeing a story about me losing my shit on Fox News. Furthermore, 26th & California consists of the following: 1 courthouse, 1 admin building and *14* jail divisions. I love Vegas, but I'm not playing those odds.
(2) to the gym. Cuz if I had to take the Chicago bus to the Clark bus just to get to the damn gym, I'd never go. Furthermore, I won't go to the gym unless I pack my gym clothes and take them with me to work (rare circumstances aside) so I need a car to stash my gym attire while I am working away at my ghetto job. No car = Sarah's bat wings grow.
(3) grocery shopping. Because Kieran and I shop for groceries like we're John & Kate + 8.....

All other situations, I will probably opt to walk or take the CTA. Or a cab.

*"Require" is used loosely, as I have detailed alternative, green, and wallet friendly alternatives in the actual body of the paragraph....And no, I am not going to experiment with any of the above and report back. I just don't have it in me.

I hear what you're saying, but do you really think now is the time to be comparing yourself to Jon & Kate + 8? Let's be real. :)
