* or, are you sure we're not actually visiting Ireland there's so much rain??? :)
Sunday, it was still not nice weather so we didn't drive to Charleston....they were talking about this winter storm was on the way all day long and Nicole was "freezing" even though I didn't even need my winter coat (5 months away from here and she's gone soft...except for the hill running....NICOLE, MY MIDWESTERN-BORN & BRED SISTER, LOWER 50s IS NOT COLD IN LATE FEBRUARY/EARLY MARCH!!!). Due to the "freezing" temps and rain and the fact that armageddon was just around the corner, we decided to head to the State Museum and then bake mouse cupcakes afterwards.
Sundays in the South -- nothing opens until after noon. Cuz you should be in church. We weren't. Instead, Nicole made us yummy french toast for breakfast and BBQ pork sandwiches for lunch. We had breakfast and lunch before even leaving the house - this is new for me unless I am hungover and I liked it alot. :) And my husband enjoyed homemade food for breakfast AND lunch (in our house, it's one or the other and dinner is most likely takeout).
The pictures below are out of order.....the mouse cupcakes are below:

Jonah enjoying his mouse cupcake like a civilized gentleman....with a fork. What manners.

Alaina showing off one of her masterpieces...

Annelise's work of art cupcake....

Museum shots....that is me inside a big tire. I kicked out all the kids playing inside so Kieran could get this shot. ha!

Kieran inside some hut. He refused to pose for the picture.

We paid extra for a weather exhibit. You got to sit inside of a tornado shelter. I thought it would be cooler/scarier than it was, but when it came time to crayon-rub snowflakes, well, then the extra $1 was so worth it.

Oh, wait, the extra $1 also paid for me becoming a weather lady for a minute. With my shades on. I rocked it out. Good thing there wasn't a mic, otherwise it would've turned into weather karaoke...starring ME.

The girls rocked it out, too. Everyone thinks Alaina is a mini-me, which is probably true, but as you see, Annelise can rock poses like Aunt Sarah, too!

The "Sandhills" is where Columbia is located (per the map below)...and let me tell you we absolutely did NOT experience "hot," "dry" or "burn" like conditions while we were visiting.

At the faux-beach....

Alaina picked out her outfit the day before.....

...and Annelise is becoming quite the young lady....

And Kieran's new BFF, Jonah....

High-fivin'....................

BTW...when we returned from the museum, even though it was still daylight and there was not a snowflake in sight, Annelise's school was cancelled due to the Mega Storm. NO kidding. Do you think Columbia got even a single snowflake???? Well, let me tell you, NO THEY DIDN'T! And the girls were hoping for a serious snow storm so Kieran and I would be snowed in for an extra day or 2....however, on the news Sunday night, we saw that Charlotte got quite a few inches of snow so we were wondering if we would actually fly out on Monday.....
