We woke on Monday to a sunny, snow-free South Carolina. Our flight (still on time per aa.com) wasn't scheduled to leave for Chicago until 4:40 so that gave us plenty of time to enjoy Nicole's pumpkin chip muffins, leftover mouse cupcakes, gallons of coffee, and.....CHICK-FIL-A!! Chicago needs a Chick-Fil-A. I am thinking I might start a franchise. So yummy! We could not leave the south without it. Back in December, before leaving for our cruise, I educated Kieran on the wonderfulness that is Chick-Fil-A and now it is a requirement for both of us whenever we are visiting the south.
After lunch, we piled into the mini van for the drive to Charlotte. I took a few pics just to prove that it was actually snowing in North Carolina....basically because I didn't believe it myself because until we got close to Charlotte, there was not a single snowflake in sight! Jonah is looking at me like, "What is your deal, Aunt Sarah? You're from Chicago, you've seen snow before."

Even a few tire marks....the first snow of the season in Chicago is always interesting...people have to get used to the snowy conditions again....can you IMAGINE what the drivers in North Carolina were experiencing on March 1 & 2????

Needless to say, our flight was not on time. We finally flew out sometime after 7 pm, I think. But we made it safe and sound and we had a great weekend (regardless of the weather). And Nicole called me yesterday to tell me that she thought she got a little sunburned from sitting outside reading her book. Awesome, huh? yeah......
WE MISS YOU, HAWKINSON FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS FOR HAVING US! WE'LL BE BACK!

Come back soon....we had a blast!
Just an FYI - we have Chick-fil-A in Indy. I knew of the Chick from my southern belle days and also longed for its arrival into northern territory. Lo and behold, it's here! Come visit and we'll eat there anytime - except on Sundays. They are so great they close on Sundays for families.

Chick-Fil-A...located in the mall in Moline! So glad I live in Gburg and all of the things Chicago doesn't have!! haha...even though I have never eaten at one.
There's actually two Chick-Fil-A's in the Quad Cities now! One in the mall in Moline and a free standing one in Davenport. The one in Davenport even has an indoor play place - woo hoo!!!
