Lady died this morning...she got out of her dog bed, walked over to Ben, who was leaving for work, and just collapsed. She probably died of old age; she was at least 13 years old. We got her when I was in college and this picture is from 1996, when she was much thinner. :) My family will miss her very much, especially my mom, who spoiled her rotten all the time! I wish I was able to tell her goodbye, but I guess I was kind of prepared for her passing when she almost died on Thanksgiving from eating all of the spilled turkey grease off the driveway (did I mention she liked to eat and had a bit of a weight problem?)....she bounced back and seemed pretty spry and active when I was home for Christmas. Santa got her a present - a dog bone and some treats. She pulled the dog bone out of her Christmas bag and dropped it on the floor because she knew there were treats still in the bag. It was so typical Lady. I haven't forgotten to post from the holidays -- just busy! Will do it probably later on tonight after attempting to make a beef curry for dinner. :)

That's sad. Poor lady. I'm glad she enjoyed herself on Thanksgiving!
I'm so sorry about your dog! They really do become part of the family. Sounds like she had a good life with your family, though.
