Ah, my 2nd favorite holiday (Thanksgiving is probably #1): Halloween! I love finding a fun costume for the festivities. This year, I was going back and forth between Amy Winehouse and Carrie (not Bradshaw, but the lunatic who could set stuff on fire with her mind)....I thought AW would be easier until I saw all her tats....can't be Amy without the signature tattoos and I didn't want henna since I read it stayed on for like 4 weeks. I didn't know anyone artistic enough to draw them on...so I went with Carrie. I took my bridesmaid dress from Becky's wedding and I splattered it with a mixture of light syrup red food coloring. Then I made myself and my wig a bloody mess, as well. Needless to say, I was still a bit stained even today....I think I am finally clean though as I post this.

My attempt to look "sinister" a la Carrie, but I think I look a bit handicapped......or like a hunch back. Not sure why....

Sam was the Miller High Life guy from those commericals (where they take away the high life from people who are not cool or fun.....funny ads) - he drove to Milwaukee, WI that day to pick up an authentic shirt and hat. I hope I didn't get too much blood on it. :) Helmut was GI Joe.

Amy Talkowsky (friend from college - now Amy Robinson) was Freddy Kruger. Beth and Becky were Debby Downers. kiddin! Oh -- and my hubby who also didn't dress up and was worried that I was going to ruin our condo with my bloody mixture.

I lost the wig by the end of the night......but OF COURSE not the tiara!

Me, Kelly and Dennis - a friend from work. He's a new dad.

OK the picture below should tell you that, despite all my promises to Kieran and best intentions to shower off when we got home from the bar before I got into bed, well, it didn't happen.

He put an old t-shirt over my pillow and made sure I didn't just plop into bed with the dress on (it's happened before....regular dresses, not syrup-stained dresses) after his many pleas to have me just shower off before bed went unheeded. I am really impressed I got my contacts out of my eyes, quite honestly.....and I threw the dress onto the balcony. ha! it's in the garbage now.
Yesterday, I went to the chiropractor and placed paper towels over the face sheet (good thing) because I was so stained. Then in the McDonalds drive-thru, all the girls were laughing at my "makeup"....I told them I had already tried to wash it off a couple times. That made them laugh harder.
Today - I ran a 15K and I am pretty sure I sweat off the remaining stains. Thank goodness, because I have a jury trial on Wednesday!
