Yes, Skid Row is still on tour...only now they play at venues like Joe's on Weed Street and the tickets cost $15. Considering I only know 2 songs, I figure $7.50/song is a reasonable trade-off for the sights I will be seeing above and beyond the band itself.
One thing, though: we were duped. Sebastian Bach is no longer with the band. And that fact was not made known to us before we purchased our tickets (at the door) because, obviously, I was thinking "$15 to see Sebastian Bach...ok....I guess" but had I known in advance that S.B. abandoned the band, well, let's just say I would have gone back home and finished downloading the *real* Skid Row on iTunes... But we were already in it for the long haul and I was actually somewhat impressed that the new, extension-sporting-Sebastian Bach-wannabe was still able to belt out "18 and Life" and "I Remember You" to the elation of the unique crowd.
Personally, I was never into Skid Row.... I was more of a Warrant ("Cherry Pie", hello??) and Whitesnake girl myself, hoping someday to be just like Tawny Kitaen, gyrating on that camaro....Well, we all know where Tawny ended up.....her own personal skid row, I think. However, I am NOT one to miss the photo opportunity that comes out of a Skid Row concert 15 years too late....BUT I have to get my highlights done in, like, 20 minutes and Blogger takes forever to upload pics, so I will post the goodies after my hair appointment. Can't cover my roots BEFORE the Skid Row concert, you know....then you just stick out like a sore thumb.....and I had the wife beater (blue, the white one was in the laundry) to boot. Be back in a bit.....don't worry, SKID F'N ROW* pics coming!
*according to new lead singer, it's not "Skid Row," it's "Skid F'n Row" now.....
