Mmmmm....Olympics......

I was just average at swimming and diving, even though I was actually allowed to dive on a Division I team (chant it with me: "I-L-L..."). My alma mater had to have been hard up for some talent to talk me into joining: insisting that I lay off the booze in prime spring months for the Big Ten meet and forcing me to leave every year the day after Christmas to somewhere godawful like Florida and California for a training trip on my school's dime. Anyway, unfortunately for me (and many other women on my team, maybe....but maybe not, they might have been more serious about the sport than me) we did not have a guys team. Now, I am all for Title IX and women athletics, however this is what I missed out on as a college undergrad.

Nevermind the quality education, the unique experience being a member of a Big Ten team, and all the memories I have to share with my future tadpoles... I am just a selfish, selfish woman. I know this.
