Just in case anyone who reads this blog thinks I am at all anorexic (like you couldn't tell just by looking at me, though! ha!)...that is a funnel cake with ice cream and chocolate sauce on top. I said to Kieran, right after I saw a really obese child walking with one, "I am getting that thing before we leave." Rated one of the "Top 5 Worst Foods for you at the Taste of Chicago," it is fried yummy goodness (or "badness," however you want to look at it). It might have been #1 on the list, I am not sure, but clearly that did not deter me...I got it even AFTER we ate tons of other stuff (none of it good for you, almost all of it fried).

That first bite....quite a lovely picture of me....NOT!
And my revenge (although it was taken earlier)...Kieran walking back from getting our empanadas, although for a revenge shot, it's pretty weak since he's not hogging it down for the camera like me.
Now just a couple video clips of the kids shooting off fireworks in our street on the 4th of July. And our front row view of the dangerous show, even though I loved every minute of it (except for the part where they started at 8 am that day and didn't finish until about midnight...reminded me of the day I moved to Chicago, 4th of July weekend exactly 10 years ago, when my mom and step dad moved me into my new apartment on the NW side...right next door to Section 8 housing....the kids were setting off little noise makers and Mom hits the deck thinking it's gunshots....)

OMG, those are like REAL fireworks...not the wimpy ones that my neighbors let off. Hope your car was safe in the garage! Love your blogs! nic
I want one of those funnel cake thingys...I totally blew RR Days off here and didn't get a funnel cake OR an elephant ear!! As for Dara Torres...NONE of your shirts would fit if your shoulders were that big...speaking from someone with a swimmer past...not that good, but a swimmer none the less!
