crazier than me.....

Day 1 of the Running of the Bulls and already, as I post this over my "lunch hour," 13 people have been hurt. Those are some insane people! I would rather run back-to-back marathons in the same running clothes than to try to outrun angry, recently released from their confines onto village streets bulls. I heard somewhere that they get so angry because their testicles are tied really tight. Maybe that's just for the rodeos....Either way, and I cannot say for certain, having never had testicles myself, but having 3 brothers and a husband, why on earth would these people taunt these animals, ESPECIALLY if their privates are tied up?????? And if that is the case, I honestly don't feel bad for the man below.
Anyway - shout out to Nicole (again!) for running her first 5k. Awesome job, Nicole! You'll be ready for the 1/2 marathon in no time. I am thinking of signing up for it, I will check the site and see if the dates work. Also, Nicole and Ben are coming up this weekend, sans children, to spend some quality adult time together (and with Kieran and me) for their anniversary. Should be a good time!

On the 4th of July, Kieran and I stayed in since we were out late for the fireworks the night before and I was supposed to work bond court early on the 4th. We were not disappointed, though, with the display of fireworks viewed just off our balcony being set off by children in the street below. Gotta love it when the neighbors gather their entire extended family together at one small 2 flat for 4th of July/Family Reunion and everyone pitches in with massive quantities of dangerous fireworks from Indiana. I was waiting for an arm or finger at least to be blown off, while selfishly urging them to light off more from the safety (or so I thought...) of our balcony. No arms blown off, but a piece of firework actually blew up against my cheek. Karma, I suppose....not that I WANTED anyone to get hurt down in the street, but I didn't want the show to end. I didn't realize how much I love to watch fireworks...or explosions in general....until this past weekend. I might still have some pictures on my camera at home.

Saturday, we had an impromptu cookout and just vegged on the couch. I was in bed by midnight (but I was up at 5 am earlier that morning to run my 9 miles!!) and it was an overall nice weekend.
