Curtains! (it's only Thursday...)

So finally the curtain pictures everyone's been DYING to see....right? ha! It's been a busy week and now I have a few minutes before I have to get ready for work...sorry for the delay. To be honest, these are some badass curtains that we picked out. For having no concept of interior design or style, we did a pretty decent job. Hubby pretty much picked out the living room ones (they are kind of velvety and I thought they'd look a little porno or something, but they are really nice!) and I did the bedroom. They keep out light and noise and since we live by a train and the Kennedy, it's very awesome now to sleep in our completely dark bedroom.
These are the bedroom curtains. "Khaki" is what they are called, but I am not sure I'd describe them as khaki. The view above and below is the window next to the bed (notice feeble attempt to show halfway made bed in foreground for purposes of picture only....yes, we are lazy slobs sometimes...). The bedroom curtains are held on by those elusive clip-hooks I posted about earlier and sometimes they fall off the rod. With very high ceilings, you definitely need a ladder....or, in the case of Sunday evening, I scaled the window like Spiderman and taped a hanger to a broomstick (a la MacGyver) and was able to put the hook back on the rod. I was proud. But Kieran had to help me off the windowsill.......

Bedroom balcony picture above. That is awesome step-dad on the ladder doing the finishing touches.....Below, is the living room curtains.....my hubby's baby (the TV) looks much smaller in this house than it did in our last apartment. I am so thankful for that....

The balcony door off the living room. No, we didn't paint that accent wall above the fireplace that putrid color. It's on the list of things to do here.....it looks like rusty puke, I know. Well, we may not yet have children, but we have curtains, y'all!!!!!

Seriously love them and wow, they are long! How tall are your ceilings? Ours are 10ft and I had a heck of a time buying drapes, yours look much higher! Great choice in colors and I really love your exposed brick!
