It's become tradition (a strange tradition, but a tradition nonetheless) that my grandmother does a nice fall cleaning of the home before they pack up for Texas and brings her "treasures" BY THE CRATE to the family dinner that is held before they go. This year's treasures ranged from a kitty pillow, some ceramic figurines, random ceramic Mexican men playing mariachis and what not (Bonnie, check the house - Jason and I had fun hiding those guys all around), Beanie Babies, and wicker baskets, just to name a few. Grandma hands the stuff out to everyone. No one is safe! Luckily, my nieces are at that precious age where everything to them is actually a treasure! So we were able to give them most of the stuff and they were glad to take it (although not sure how happy Nicole was about it). Alaina got a wallet, some ceramic children (that Nicole should swab for lead-based paint), beanie babies, and some baskets. She was in heaven!
On the other side of the family, my little sister, Laura, and her boyfriend, Dusty, just got a new puppy. Her name is Bailey and she is just cute as can be!
It was a great weekend -- and we'll be back again in a week for Thanksgiving!! :)
Kieran and I posing in my parent's kitchen after an awesome turkey dinner. Thanksgiving early and often, we say!
