because i SUCK at updating it!! i have pictures to post, i have life lessons to share, i have funny stories to tell, yet, here i am, being so fricking lazy and doing nothing about it.
well -- not anymore! new year, new posts!
Baby Spelman is due on 2/19, but is arriving a little sooner than originally planned. He is a BIG boy. and he's transverse breech, which means he's lying sideways, head up in my left side, feet down in my right side. just chillin'. like he's in a hammock by the sea. sipping a corona. so the only way he's coming out is via c-section and the procedure is scheduled for 2/13. we don't have a time yet, we are currently on a wait list. apparently there are c-section wait lists in chicago... who knew. but my ob is confident we will get in on the 13th -- worst case scenario would be 2/14.
i'm working up until 2/10 and everyday is more and more uncomfortable. the unseasonably warm weather has turned our office into a sauna -- because of course it makes sense to crank the heat inside when it's 60 degrees outside. i'm approved to take off until mid-July, but i am sure i'll be back to work sooner. momma needs to bring home the bacon... rumor has it, kids are pricey. :)
so i guess we are as ready as we'll ever be.... and very much looking forward to family coming to stay with us and meet our new little guy!
so -- here's hoping i keep up better with the blog!

I'm trying to get back into the blogging thing too. Congrats on your upcoming bundle! It's exciting and scary all at the same time. Hang in there... or out there... over the next couple of weeks!
