Oh, Canada!

we've been travelin'.  Last weekend, we were in Regina, Saskatchewan for our friends' wedding.  The groom was a friend of Kieran's from Ireland and he met his bride (who was from Canada) when she visited Ireland a few years ago.  Much like my groom, he knew when he had a good thing, and moved permanently to Canada.  They were in Chicago last year for my birthday; that is when I got the privilege to meet Antonija & Stuart.  Amazingly fun people.  The weekend was a blast - we were there from Friday until Tuesday - and this is coming from someone who is off the sauce until next year.  :)

of course, our trip cannot start out perfect.  we were over halfway into our flight to Regina when the pilot turned around and flew back to O'Hare due to "maintenance issues" with the plane.  So while our flight was originally scheduled to get into Canada at 7:30 pm, we didn't get in until after 11 pm... Unfortunately we weren't able to meet everyone out, but room service and a comfy bed was a close second, in my opinion.

the wedding was Saturday, they had a pig roast on Sunday (so fun, but the mosquitoes in Canada are brutal; mosquitoes flew up my dress and bit me on the ass), and Monday we were able to walk around Regina and I got a massage at the hotel.  That evening, we had pizza at Antonija's parents house and checked out the casino in downtown Regina.  It was so nice to be able to hang out with everyone all weekend long.  we stayed at the Hotel Saskatchewan, which is supposed to be the nicest hotel there.... I believe it.  The spa was wonderful and the food was the best we ate (aside from the food at the wedding and the pig roast)... our flight home was at 8 am Tuesday, so we had to get up early and we were exhausted when we arrived in Chicago.  HOWEVER, the fun doesn't stop there.  We were able to enjoy another dinner at the Girl and the Goat that evening when we returned.  I blogged about it a few months ago when we went the first time.... so delish.  Needless to say, I was dragging ass for the rest of the week at work.  Thank goodness we had a 3 day weekend this weekend.

Now, I didn't take quite as many pictures as I would have liked of the wedding, reception, of Canada, etc., but I am going to chalk it up to having too good of a time to break out the camera.... I will post.  Before the new year!  :)
