Can I blame my lack of blogging on the heat? I don't think that would fly.... Aside from roasting, I have no excuse for the neglect. We've had a pretty uneventful summer so far and I do have pictures on the laptop that I plan on uploading to Blogger at some point....
Since the MC200/Ragnar Relay, we've filled our weekends with street festivals, dinners and cookouts with friends, and a couple trips to Galesburg (most recently to see my new niece, who came up from South Carolina with the rest of the Hawkinson fam). The baby is gorgeous. I already miss her and the rest of the family. The rest of my time has been spent at work and napping in the A/C.... really dreading the next few power bills.... I've also been reading a lot of novels on the Kindle, something else I wanted to do this summer (catch up on my growing Kindle library). My dad and Bonnie came up this past weekend for the Paul McCartney concert; it was so much fun to have them stay at our place for a change. We'll be heading back to Galesburg in a few weeks for Kieran's 30th birthday celebration with my family and then to Canada the following weekend, at the end of August, for a wedding.
I never thought I'd say it, but I am ready for fall. I cannot deal with this heat anymore.
I will post pics, I haven't forgotten, I've been neglectful.
