... we've been trying to adjust to what working people have to do, that is, work. ugh! we haven't been away in ages and our little mini vacay to NOLA was so wonderful which made coming back to work completely miserable. i was checking out kayak.com for flights and cruise deals, but realistically we won't be traveling anywhere until we head to Ireland in the fall.
i ran the shamrock shuffle 8k last weekend -- it was gorgeous out for spectators, but for runners (or for this runner, at least) it was waaaaay too humid for running. i had my slowest time ever, i think. but it served as motivation to get my butt off the treadmill and back outside, which is what i did this morning. on Saturday, i'm running the lakefront 10 miler with some girlfriends, which should be interesting. never before have i worried about coming in DEAD LAST in a race, but i am seriously thinking it could happen this time. i'll keep you posted.
my sister is about to pop. i'm so excited for her and so ready to meet kiddo #4!
i'm going to see "sex with strangers" tonight at the steppenwolf theater. i have no clue what to expect. kieran is playing table tennis (ping pong for the rest of us) and some work friends are going so i found a half price ticket on goldstar.com and decided to expand beyond my weeknight ritual of ridding the DVR of gossip girl, the biggest loser, etc. yay for broadening my horizons, right? plus, how can you go wrong with a play called "sex with strangers," right?
my birthday is next friday. it is the 6th year of my 29th birthday. we are going to galesburg for easter weekend, but i have no big birthday plans and i'm ok with that. (well, kieran is taking me out for my birthday dinner here in chicago and it's a surprise! i'm really excited for this, he doesn't surprise me all that often but when he does, they are awesome surprises). gone are the days of karaoke black out.... not really, but i am taking a break this year. i'm.... (gulp) getting old.
