The past three weeks of blog neglecting has flown by....busy shopping, mailing, doing cards, hosting dinners, having book club... I will post pictures from Kieran's holiday party back on December 4 as well as Christmas pictures after this weekend.
Why am I blogging on Christmas eve? Because the rest of my family are playing dominoes in the dining room. I like games, but I am just so stuffed from food and drink and I'm happy as a clam listening to the smack talk and tracking Santa on www.noradsanta.org -- this is why I love my laptop, I can be a part of the action without moving off the couch. :)
Since my last post, what has been going on with us? Well, the following weekend after the holiday party, I had dinner with friends celebrating my friend, Robyn's, engagement. She's getting married on 1/1/11. The next night, we celebrated our friend, Hande's, birthday at Japonais. Sunday, the 12th, I had book club brunch and Kieran took me to Wicked. LOVED IT! I had tears in my eyes after the first act. Love, Love, Love! Last weekend, we hosted dinner for a couple of Galesburg girlfriends and their husbands - Ani, Angela, Alberto and David. I made shepherd's pie, homemade creamy broccoli soup, and a cake. Kieran and I both took the day off yesterday and drove back to Galesburg in time for my step-mom's birthday dinner at Applebees. Nicole, Ben and the kids are back and made it to dinner, as well as Jason. So fun. My dad is doing well since his knee replacement in early December...he's pretty mobile, but I worry sometimes he tries to do too much. Now it's Christmas Eve at my mom's house and tomorrow is at my dad's. We are missing Kieran's family this year -- I can't believe a year has already passed since we spent Christmas and New Years in Ireland. Thankfully the gifts I sent finally made it in time for Christmas, despite the weather issues in Europe.
So that's the update. I will post pics probably on Sunday, as I watch my fantasy football team hopefully claim victory.... my first time doing fantasy football and I'm in the championship game. Respect that.
Merry Christmas!
Love,
Kieran & Sarah
