So that I can fully update my blog followers on my to-do's since my last post, I am gratefully referring to my iPhone calendar because my days have been such a blur, I barely remember what went on (aside from Thanksgiving, obviously....)
Since my last post, I have been a busy worker bee. I am trying as many cases as possible before we leave for Ireland so I am not coming back to work faced with a huge mess. I will still have a mess, but whatever I can do ahead of time to mitigate it, well, that's what I'm doing. Which is why I have been MIA from here. Now, Facebook friends, you might see that I am regularly playing Bejeweled. However, please note that I have downloaded the application on my phone and my stats go straight to Facebook. Often times, I am playing my beloved Bejeweled while court is on a break or I am waiting for my case to be called or I am waiting at an appointment. I am not sitting at home (or my desk) playing Bejeweled (at least, not anymore...unless K & I are watching a show, sometimes I Bejewel during commercials). I have not traded in blogging for Bejeweled. (All aspects of that sentence scream Sarah is a dork, BTW)
My dad's birthday was November 22. On Monday, Dad and Bonnie started their drive to SC for Thanksgiving with Nicole, Ben and the kids. So no turkey day with dad this year. We did see them briefly on Sunday before heading back to Chicago, though, so I was grateful for that.
Ben's (baby bro) birthday was November 26, which also coincided with Thanksgiving itself. He was born on Thanksgiving - I will never forget that we had Hy-Vee chicken (Jason, Laura and I) for Thanksgiving that year instead of our usual feast. He's now 22.
I did NOT go out on Thanksgiving Eve. I baked a pumpkin cake and bought leeks for my T-day contribution to the table (sparse leek availability in G-town, BTW). I hope no one fainted in surprise at these admissions (my non-going out and my baking). I made up for it on Friday night and felt it well into Sunday. Alyssa, my shower gift is in the mail. No "Black Friday" shopping for me (I only go with Nicole...although Laura texted me at 7:30 am to try to get me to go and I was still sleeping...until 10 am) and Cyber Monday is dumb. Needless to say, no Christmas gifts have been purchased. Saturday night, Kieran saw New Moon with me. He hated it. I knew he would, but he was a good sport and he's still reminding me of that fact.....
I am now back in Chicago and still overworked and underpaid. I have had litigation set for everyday this week (and the next two weeks) except Friday (Friday afternoon, I'm going to the doctor for a pain in my rib/side area that I am convinced is a punctured lung and I don't know how it happened....I am being dramatic, it's probably a direct result of overeating on Thanksgiving, but maybe not, thank God for PPO anyway).
This weekend, I'm hosting book club at our place. I still have to finish the book (The Septembers of Shiraz) in my "free" time..... *sigh* and I might have a few pics to post on here from random goings on. Also, we are leaving for Ireland in a couple weeks (again, we have a house sitter, so don't even think about stealing our new fridge) and our work holiday parties are coming up next weekend, which means no rest for the weary anytime soon. Oh, and we found a new obsession: Dexter. And the first 2 seasons are on Watch Instantly on Netflix. So that is what we've been up to (and what is on the horizon until we leave).....
Back to work - pictures and more up-to-date updates to come, I promise!!

Sarah & Kieran, great to see you and never enough time to catch up.. I had an in depth conversation with Jason & Kieran about a gift for my dad for Christmas... they talked me into it and I'm happy to report I bought it. Now... does Kieran remember having the convo with me? ha ha.
