So all of my Christmas presents are wrapped and the Ireland presents are mailed and the laundry is done and the kids are fed...gotcha! So I left off with our vacation when we arrived on the ship. It was named the Carnival Legend by the way. Legend....kind of chest-poundy like "Titanic," no? ....anyway.... Sunday through Monday is just cruising towards our first destination. So they have activities for everyone during the day and on Monday evening, it was "elegant night" on the ship (aka don't dress like you're on vacation, but instead dress in uncomfortable clothes and don't forget the Spanx, because even though it's only day 2, I have already consumed many more calories than I really need to live).
I bought a fancy new dress for the occasion, we ate a fancy dinner (and I overheard my first of three instances of bulimia-in-action), and then Kieran and I gambled in the cruise ship casino until bedtime.
The shot below is of us in our "elegant" attire, but that is the only picture so you can't really see my awesome dress...and this angle makes my breasts look like they hang way lower than they actually do. Honest.

This is our towel animal from Monday night (Night 2)...we think it's a dog.

Dad and Bonnie on "elegant" night....

Below is Cuba. I became a little obsessed about photographing Cuba. And you can barely see it. I have about 5 more pictures, but I will not bore blog readers with my Cuba shots, although in one of them you can actually see the buildings somewhat.

Before the "elegance" began...our fun day at sea (Carnival's catchphrase, not mine). We laid out and did a wine and food pairing/tasting.

Seriously, they had something for everyone on the cruise ship. Bingo (not), Karaoke (hell yeah)...but the Men's Ping Pong Tournament on the last day was cancelled due to winds. Too bad for Kieran. During our first "fun day at sea," Kieran and I opted for a "Wine and Food Pairing" demonstration, but really, I was in it for the vino.....

The drink that day was a "Coco Loco" and it was in a coconut with a monkey's face carved into it. Of course, I caved. The stupid thing was like 15 bucks and I am questioning the alcohol content as I write this....but Mr. Monkey came home with us, because "you can re-use it as a bank".....(the waiter's sales pitch)

Night 1 Animal (Sunday night).....it was a walrus.

First stop: Grand Cayman.....to be continued......
