Last weekend, we went back to Galesburg for Annelise's 7th and Jonah's 1st Birthday party at Oak Run. It was also Father's Day. We got to see the 3 nieces and the lone nephew all in one weekend, yay! And since I don't know how to apply sunscreen correctly, I got a really jacked up burn/white mark on my chest. It was so awesome looking - not so much. You can't tell yet in the picture below because I am still oblivious to the sun's rays at that point while we're still at the beach. Notice Kieran the superstar. :)
The burn is starting to show below....the white look in the middle surrounding by burn is not camera effects. It's SPF application (lack of) skills. Oh well. That is my niece Kaela, my sister Laura, and my momma. :)
Kaela and Lady's butt. Lady (the obese beagle) refuses to move for anyone, anytime. She will lie right in the doorway when you need to get out. Take her on a walk, once you get four houses down, she won't budge unless she sees that you are turning back in the general direction of home. But if you want to take a picture of her, well, she is gone in a flash like a celebrity avoiding paparazzi.....
Jonah: It's serious business eating your very first piece of birthday cake!
Annelise: Yes, I AM almost 7, thank you!
Blowing out the candles fake-out because it was too windy to have them lit for real.....
Jonah and grandpa Rick (oops -sorry Rick if you saw original post!)... still serious....not sure what to make of being 1-year-old....that is his cake, pre-munch fest...it's a crown made of sugar cookies. How Martha Stewart is my sister? My kids will wish they had aunt Nicole as a mom when I break out the Jewel sheet cake with an airbrushed clown holding plastic balloons and my child's name misspelled instead of a cool cake like that......*sigh*
